1934 Alvis Speed 20

1934 Alvis Speed 20

SOLD ……..  1934 Alvis Speed 20 SC Charlesworth Saloon.

Described as a fast and handsome car with tremendous performance and a low purposeful stance, the Alvis Speed 20 is the epitome of pre-war sporting elegance. This Speed 20 Charlesworth Saloon is beautifully made and bristling with technical innovations such as independent front suspension, all-synchro gearbox and servo-assisted brakes. This all combines to create a very special driving experience.

This very special vehicle was first registered in London in November 1934 to Mrs Rose M Martin, Canhurst Farm, Knowl Hill, Berks and it is said to have been one family owned up until 1979. This 2.7 Litre SC model was retired from the road in 2000 and spent many years dormant in a barn in the UK before being sold. The car was then purchased by a Kiwi in the UK and was imported into New Zealand where a no expense spared restoration was started. The finished product speaks volumes as to the standard of this restoration. The attention to detail and standard of craftsmanship is second to none.

Accompanied by a lovely history file and extensive technical information this vehicle is the complete package of the very desirable and motorable pre-war motor car.
