1974 Daihatsu MAX 360

On 9 November 1966, Daihatsu introduced the Fellow, also known as Daihatsu 360 in export markets. This 1974 example has a front-mounted engine and is front wheel drive. The 356 cc, water-cooled two-cylinder two-stroke engine is matched with a four-speed manual transmission giving the car a lively driving feel. The self-lubricating (“Oil-Matic”) engine weighs only 58 kg . In a period road test by Wheels magazine the vehicle reached 68 mph (109 km/h) and managed the sprint to 60 mph (97 km/h) in 33.2 seconds.

This example is certainly a survivor having had only 4 previous owners. This vehicle is very straight in the body with immaculate paint work and the interior trim has to be seen to be believed.

With Japanese classics of this era becoming increasingly hard to find in this condition this is certainly an opportunity not to be missed. This is a must have vehicle for any Micro Car collector or a fantastic entry level classic or weekend coffee car.

BAINS CLASSIC MOTOR HOUSE will be holding a Classic Car , Memorabilia and Antique Auction on site on Sunday the 23rd of February 2020.Lots and further information will be available on our website closer to the time.
